Maryknoll Media Productions
Maryknoll Media Productions, the co-producer of Execution Chronicles, is the TV, video and radio unit of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, an international Catholic mission organization. It produces two weekly radio programs, Voices of Our World and Voces deNuestro Mundo, and the TV series, The Field Afar. It also produced the documentary, Lives for Sale, about human trafficking, and School of Assassins, nominated for an Academy Award in 1995. Maryknoll Media Productions is also a sponsor of the Angelus Student Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Ilan Ziv - Filmmaker
Ilan Ziv was born in Israel in 1950 and came to the United States after fighting in the Yom Kippur (The October) War in 1973. A graduate of New York University film school, Ziv co-produced New York's first Middle Eastern Film Festival in 1978. That same year he founded Icarus Films, an educational film distribution company, which he left in 1980 to devote himself to documentaries. His company Tamouz Media’s critically-acclaimed works include, On the Edge of Peace (1995), Tango of Slaves (1994), and Human Weapon (2002), which The New York Times called, “gripping and important.” His most recent film, Six Days, the magazine Time Out hailed as giving “The Battle of Algiers a run for its money.” Accolades include: the Prix Europa (Europe highest television award), Silver Nymph and the International Jury ward in Monte Carlo, Cine Eagle in the United States, and the Best Documentary Award at Israel's Haifa International Film Festival.
Renu Nahata - Web Producer/ Editor
Renu Nahata is an activist, media critic and media producer on progressive issues, focusing on race, war and women. Early on, she worked with Columbia University students and community leaders in response to hate crimes, including the killing of an Indian man, by a group advocating the eradication of Indians in Jersey City, NJ. As a public speaker and writer, she has analyzed skewed media coverage of race and war. She has served as an associate producer to develop human rights programming for educational use. In another capacity, she worked to improve media coverage of women's reproductive health and rights in the US and abroad. She now works with her husband as a producer for their documentary production company, Iron Eye Productions, Ltd., in New York City.
David Tereshchuk - Executive Producer
David Tereshchuk has written for many U.S. publications, including The New York Times and am New York, where he began the weekly column, "The Media Beat." He has also contributed to The Guardian, The Observer and the New Statesman in London.
On television, Tereshchuk has reported and produced documentaries from around the globe for both American and British networks. He also has served as a media adviser to corporations, non-profit organizations and the United Nations. Currently, he is Executive Producer of Interactive Media for Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers.
